ON OUR WATCH, MAY 2024
Are we living in the End Times foretold by saints and popes?
This is part of our mission at Jesus4UsAll.com to keep you informed.
Who would have thought how right Pope John Paul II was in August 1976, when still as Cardinal Wojtyła, attending a Eucharistic Congress Meeting in Philadelphia, USA, he made a profound and shocking announcement that there would come the greatest confrontation in 2,000 years that would challenge Christianity. Here we are, 38 years later, seeing what could only be described as a realisation of those chilling words.
[Taken from the National Catholic Register, website www.ncregister.com, story titled, John Paul II’s Warning on ‘Final Confrontation’ With the ‘Anti-Church’].
This is what he said:
‘We are now standing in the face of the greatest historical confrontation humanity has gone through. I do not think that wide circles of the American society or wide circles of the Christian community realise this fully. We are now facing the final confrontation between the Church and the anti-Church, of the Gospel versus the anti-Gospel. This confrontation lies within the plans of divine Providence; it is a trial which the whole Church, and the Polish Church in particular, must take up. It is a trial of not only our nation and the Church, but, in a sense, a test of 2,000 years of culture and Christian civilisation with all of its consequences for human dignity, individual rights, human rights and the rights of nations.’
What Pope John Paul II said back then resonates with this generation; a time when the Bible is becoming more and more marginalised and, in some cases, considered as a Hate Crime; the papacy and the doctrine of the Catholic Church itself is considered an enemy by this modern world. Pope John Paul II was instrumental in driving back the forces of Communism and the collapse of the Berlin Wall, prompting the reunification of Germany.
When Pope John Paul II was shot on 13 May in 1981, the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, in St Peter’s Square, Rome, he knew that this was a sign from Heaven, the Blessed Virgin Mary saving his life. He also knew he had enemies, and that his papacy wasn’t giving way to the Modernists as far, or as fast, as they wanted. Exactly a year later, he would visit the shrine of Fatima in thanks to Our Lady and have the bullet that struck him placed in her crown.
Here we are approaching that same feast of our Lady of Fatima, on 13 May 2024, and what happened back then probably means more to this generation than any previous one.
When Pope John Paul II spoke about the greatest confrontation against Christianity in 2,000 years and that it would test this civilisation, and nations to the core, eroding national sovereign rights, human rights and human bodily autonomy, where we have a right to refuse medication or treatments. We saw more than a glimpse of this conflict during the Covid-19 pandemic and the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccines, where people were branded as selfish and evil for not taking it. There were mandates to have this vaccine or risk losing your job. In certain parts of the community, people were required to have a Covid vaccine certificate in order to enter restaurants, theatres or football matches.
An erosion of human rights to a disproportionate level never seen before in the Western world, which was built on Christian values, respect for national sovereignty, dignity and the right to refuse experimental medical procedures and substances. We expect these things to happen in places such as China and other undemocratic regimes, but who would have foreseen these atrocities of human rights violations in these days? Apparently, Pope John Paul II saw these things coming 38 years ago…
Even in this month, May 2024, the UN World Health Organization (WHO) has convened an emergency session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) in Geneva to push consensus of the Pandemic Treaty, and drive the treaty towards ratification before the upcoming World Health Assembly on 27 May.
If ratified, nations around the world that are signed up to it could lose sovereignty over their national healthcare, not only in times of apparent pandemics, but also supposedly to prevent any, which really is an open door to abuse and carries with it the threat to mandate or force vaccines on the population, completely disregarding the Nuremberg code and a person’s human right to refuse being subjected to a substance that isn’t even tested, labelled or has its contents disclosed.
Who would have thought that all the countries of the world would have simultaneously locked down in March and April of 2020 – with no resistance, no questions, in complete submission? With churches also forced to close, and people forced to stay at home, and worship ceasing to exist, including any public gatherings? It just brings to mind the horrifying words that Mari Loli, one of the four Garabandal visionaries, said during a TV interview on 19 October 1982.
Interview with Mari Loli on 19 October 1982
Mari Loli was the only person to know the date of The Warning [Illumination of Conscience]
Interviewer: Before The Warning, you said that Communism would dominate the world… Did the Blessed Mother tell you this?
Mari: Yes.
Interviewer: What do you mean by ‘dominate the world’?
Mari: I don’t know exactly. But Communism would take over the world.
Interviewer: And it will be in every place as far as you know?
Mari: As far as I know. That’s what I thought, but at the time, my knowledge was not too far… about the world.
Interviewer: But the impression you got as a child, you thought it [Communism] was everywhere?
Mari: Yes.
Interviewer: And what will happen during this tribulation? Will there be a persecution?
Mari: Well, she [Our Lady] said it would be very hard for a priest to say Mass, and for the peoples to practise their religion; and for the priests, if they find out you’re a priest, they will persecute you.
Interviewer: And you also said that the churches will have to be closed?
Mari: Yes, they’ll be closed because they will not allow the people to go to the priests to say Mass, or for the people to go there [the church].
End of TV transcript.
In July 2023, the Anglican Archbishop of York said that calling God ‘our Father’ is ‘problematic’. The Most Rev Stephen Cottrell said the phrase is ‘problematic’ for victims of abuse, as well as people who have suffered under ‘oppressive patriarchy’.
This is a clear indication that this is not just an attack on the Bible, Christianity, but on Christ himself, who gave us the Lord’s Prayer. For us Christians all around the world, Jesus is God and every word that comes out of his mouth is God speaking; and whenever a word comes out of the mouth of Jesus, which is the mouth of God, it comes with a backing of eternity, and of God’s infinite wisdom.
When Jesus instructs us to call God ‘Our Father’, Jesus is revealing our Father’s Will who has revealed himself as Father and Jesus as his Son. To tamper with this is to bring the same kind of doubt into the believer’s heart that the serpent brought to Eve, questioning God’s Word to bring humanity’s (Adam and Eve’s) downfall. This was a tactical attack by satan, using words to bring doubt in those listening to him. It’s as if we find ourselves in these days, both in the Garden of Eden and the Garden of Gethsemane at the same time; a test on whose word we believe the most, and a test on our willingness to be a witness (martyr) for God, no matter the consequences.
Even as we write this, it is well known that today’s printing houses are printing Bibles with certain verses missing from them in order to change the slant or meaning of the Scriptures, or to hide powerful verses that give insight into God’s Word or His Promises. Words that can lift faith.
It’s important to recognise that these things are happening in our days in order to weaken our faith in God, and especially in the person of Jesus Christ. We are told in the Scriptures about the time of the appearance of the Antichrist. Notice it’s not the time of the AntiGod, but the Antichrist; it’s against the Anointed One, who is Jesus Christ. It is therefore evident that anything to do with Jesus Christ is going to become more and more obnoxious to the world who is under the power of the Antichrist. We are asked to be watchful and awake, sober, and of a clear mind of the times we are living in so that we know how to manoeuvre in them and to be ready for whatever comes, and for the return of Our Lord Jesus Christ, who is coming back for his Bride.
Should we be preparing ourselves for another lockdown? One that is far more severe than before? Do we know the Word of God? Are we walking by faith? To finish off for now, let us remember the key points that the apostle John makes to early Christians in his first epistle. Namely, the conditions following Christ: firstly, refrain from sin; secondly, obey the commandments, especially the commandments of love; thirdly, detach from the world; and lastly, be on guard against the enemies of Christ, or the Antichrist.
